Guidelines for Submissions

The website is designed to provide individuals the opportunity to display their work, provide the public with insight into who the artist is and what inspires them, and to provide the artists with an opportunity to communicate with other artists and the public.

The website is provided free of charge, and is limited to artists in various sectors of Polish Canadian backgrounds to display their work or information on-line not only to other Polish Canadians but to all Canadians, as well as, internationally.

It is meant to provide networking opportunities, communication links, information about events, information about funding, to inspire artists, and to promote arts and culture within Canada.

Guidelines for submission are simple. It is hoped that each artist will use their discretion to use photos of their work or images (and/or links to other websites) that do not offend other individuals, organizations or institutions.

Please do not post images or links that include:

+ Explicit depiction of human genitalia, sexually explicit material, or what is generally deemed as pornographic within the laws of Canada - will not be deemed acceptable. However - images of adult nudes and adults in "sensual" compositions are perfectly acceptable.

+ Images of nude children or young adults or children /young adults in suggestive poses will not be acceptable.

+ Images that depict infliction of pain, torture or discrimination of any individuals or animals etc. will not be acceptable if that depiction is portrayed as a positive element.

+ Images that utilize religious images or symbols in a derogatory, sexual or inflammatory way will not be deemed acceptable.

+ Images that depict other individuals, institutions, corporations or nations in a derogatory, libelous, inflammatory or offensive way will not be deemed acceptable. However - if the material is of a humorous nature and is publicly displayed through other mediums and will not involve the website in a legal situation - then the artist's discretion to post the material or video(s) would be appreciated.

+ Generally speaking - there are numerous other on-line medium that artists can utilize to display their works that are more liberal in their allowance of material. It is hoped that our guidelines do not limit artist's creativity but rather encourage the artists and the public to feel comfortable with all the images, videos and material displayed or accessible.

+ If however you - as an artist - feel that the guidelines need to be modified because certain restrictions unfairly limit or impact your work - or you feel that you are uncertain if your work(s) of art or material meet the guidelines - please feel free to contact the website administrator via email. The guidelines will be clarified, reviewed and/or modified based on your presentation of rationale and/or material submitted directly to the website administrator for review or discussion purposes.

+ Again - it is not the intention of the website (or individuals associated with the website) to serve as morality police but rather to allow all viewers and participants to feel comfortable and inspired by material posted on the website.
